Imaging technologies have become an extension of our senses and memory, transforming into versatile scientific tools that shape our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

In celebration of the fifth anniversary of the BRIDGE Network, scientists from four different international, interdisciplinary institutes have contributed images from their research, offering a fascinating glimpse into their laboratories and subjects.

This unique collection reflects the diverse research fields within the Network, often blurring the lines between observation and documentation, and sometimes placing the image itself at the heart of scientific inquiry.

From artificial organ-like microstructures used in medical research to clusters of galaxies at the edge of the universe, the images are loosely grouped into the sectors HUMAN / MODEL / WORLD. These clusters interweave through scales, methods, and subjects, illustrating the continuous and multidirectional expansion of scientific inquiry.

Join us to explore this captivating exhibition and witness how imaging technologies bridge the gap between the seen and the unseen, the known and the unknown.

Supporters: United Nations University is graciously providing the venue for the exhibit. The exhibit is partially supported by Japan’s Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s (MEXT) program for “Forming Japan’s Peak Research Universities” (J-PEAKS).
