Vincent Setlhare, MD, MBA is Associate Professor of Family Medicine in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Medicine at the University of Botswana. A Fellow of Global Health Leadership (Afya Bora) and a final-year PhD candidate, Dr. Setlhare is a family physician who teaches family medicine and research to undergraduate and postgraduate students. His main area of research is centered on the ways in which doctor-patient interactions and relationships impact care. He is a member of the World Spine Care Executive Committee and is the Botswana Principal Investigator for the Global Spine Care Initiative Project. Prof Setlhare is the chairman of the African Consortium for Excellence in Family Medicine, an organization of faculty from five African universities in southern Africa. He has previously helped review the WHO Package of Interventions for Rehabilitation of People with Low Back Pain. Dr. Setlhare is a member of Primafamed, Wonca (Africa), The International Society for Quality in Health Care, and the Botswana Association of Family Physicians.
