About me
Simran Karkhanis is a researcher, climate advocate, and aspiring environmental engineer dedicated to using technology to solve global environmental challenges, particularly in agriculture. Her work includes engineering a smart irrigation system to support farmers, using UN FAO data to quantify impacts of synthetic fertilizer on greenhouse gas emissions, and advancing implementation of agrivoltaic systems. She has presented at the American Geophysical Union research conference, the largest climate research conference in the world. As co-lead of the San Jose Youth Climate Action Team and a Climate Reality Ambassador, Simran is committed to advancing innovative, equitable solutions for a sustainable future.
