About me
Catherine Régis is a Full Professor of Law at the University of Montreal (UdeM) and Director of Social Innovation and International Policy at IVADO, a major AI research, training and knowledge transfert consortium in Canada. She holds a Canada Research Chair in Health Law and Policy and a Canada-CIFAR Chair in AI and Human Rights. She is an Associate Academic Member at Mila (Quebec AI Institute), the codirector of the Health Hub – Policies, Organizations and Law (H-POD) as well as an Expert Member of the Working Group on Responsible AI for the Global Partnership on AI. Her research projects focus on the regulation of AI in healthcare systems and on the integration of human rights in national and global AI governance. She co-authored the UN-Habitat-Mila white paper “AI and Cities: Risks, Applications and Governance” (2022) and recently published two books: B. Prud’homme, C. Régis & G.
