About me
Dr. Dawood Hjeij is a Senior Specialist at the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council, where he is actively involved in government innovation, focusing on post-award processes for open innovation programs. Dr. Hjeij holds a Ph.D. and an M.Sc. in Sustainable Energy from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, and an M.Eng. and a B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University at Qatar. He has also significantly contributed to Qatar's National Manufacturing Strategy through his work with the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting.
During his Ph.D. studies, Dr. Hjeij developed a strategic framework for Qatar's hydrogen sector, using an agent-based model to simulate the global hydrogen trade until 2050. His research focused on optimizing Qatar's hydrogen strategy for economic diversification, assessing export competitiveness, and aligning with evolving energy market dynamics and sustainability needs. Dr. Hjeij has published research in fields such as hydrogen energy, oil and gas, and renewable energy systems, and has presented his work at various international conferences.
