About me
Dr. Edem Mahu is a Senior Lecturer in marine biogeochemistry at the University of Ghana. She received the 2022 American Geophysical Union Africa Award for Research Excellence in Ocean Science an Affiliate of the African Academy of Sciences, and an AU-EU ARISE fellow.
She leads several global efforts to bridge gaps in ocean science capacity, which includes her role as a co-chair of the Ocean Decade Vision 2030 process for Challenge 9 on capacity development, a steering group member for the newly established Ocean Decade capacity development facility, and a past trustee of the Partnership for Observation of the Global Ocean.
Her work spans past climate reconstruction, upwelling, ocean productivity, and ocean acidification.
