Prof. Rita Akosua Dickson is a
Ghanaian biochemist and the first female
Vice-Chancellor of the
Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Kumasi Ghana. Her work as a phytochemist covers the areas of bioactive natural products in the management of communicable and non-communicable diseases. Her research area centers on the maximum utilization of indigenous natural resources to contribute positively to the healthcare needs of our people. She researches into bioactive natural products from medicinal plants based on their ethnopharmacological usage. She is a people-oriented person who believes in all hands on deck approach to leadership, and possesses a deeper commitment to both staff and students. She seeks to provide staff and students with opportunities for their personal development and growth while remaining highly receptive to new ideas and creative thinking.
