Fernand E. Bale is a senior geospatial specialist with over 20 years of experience. Over the last decade, he has worked with governments, political leaders, and decision-makers to harness the full potential of geospatial technology in addressing sustainable development challenges, primarily in Africa. Currently, Fernand serves as the Director of the Ivorian National Mapping Agency (CIGN) at BNETD. His extensive involvement in international organizations includes being a Co-chair of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Global Geospatial Information Management (UN-GGIM) and the United Nations Subcommittee on Geodesy, as well as a member of the International GNSS Services (IGS) Governing Board and the International Advisory Committee of the UN-Global Geodesy Center of Excellence (Bonn). Fernand holds an engineering degree from ENSG-Paris and a master's degree in spatial data analysis from Sorbonne University, obtained in 2002. In 2021, he completed the Program for Management Development (PMD) at IESE Business School, Barcelona.
