About me
Dr Lorenza Fluks is a Senior Research Specialist at the Human Sciences Research Council’s Impact Centre in South Africa. She holds a PhD, Master's, and BPsych degrees in Psychology from Stellenbosch University. With a strong background in psychology and extensive experience in community engagement, Dr Fluks has a keen interest in addressing social issues using qualitative, participatory, and action-oriented research methodologies. In her current role, Dr Fluks is committed to promoting the discourse on gender equality and social inclusion related to research. She serves as the Principal Investigator for the Science Granting Councils Initiative's Gender Equality and Inclusivity project. This project, led by the HSRC, in collaboration with Jive Media Africa and Portia, aims to strengthen the capacities of science granting councils in Africa to advance gender equality, inclusivity and intersectionality in grant-making and organisational practices.
