As the Co-Founder and Chief Policy, Impact and Government Affairs Officer for Global Citizen, I have been leading and growing the organization's efforts to influence and implement change in a divided world for over 10 years. I oversee a global team of 30 professionals who work with governments, businesses, foundations, and artists to secure and track commitments worth over $60 billion to end extreme poverty and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
I am also the author of "From Ideas to Impact: A Playbook for Influencing and Implementing Change in a Divided World", which reveals the key characteristics and strategies of successful policy entrepreneurs who bridge the gap between promises and outcomes. I am a contributor for Forbes.com, where I write about the intersection of policy, impact, and sustainability. I have a passion for advancing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues and promoting sustainable finance and capitalism. I have been recognized as a Western Australian of the Year, a Commonwealth Young Person of the Year finalist, and a member of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens’ board.
I have worked on campaigns globally with artists including Beyoncé, Coldplay, Idris and Sabrina Elba, Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Priyanka Chopra, Rihanna, Usher, and world leaders including Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and former Australian Prime Ministers Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd.
In 2020 we produced the "One World: Together At Home" and "Global Goal: Unite For Our Future" campaigns, which reached millions of people in over 150 countries and saw $1.6 billion announced in cash grant funding in support of the WHO's COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund and local organizations working tirelessly to address the pandemic and its impact on communities. Amongst other awards, One World received Guinness World Records for most money raised for charity by a remote music festival.
I have written in Forbes, the Guardian, Huffington Post, The Diplomat Magazine, The South China Morning Post, The West Australian, and Fairfax Media. I have been interviewed by ABC, BBC, CNN The New Yorker, Forbes Magazine, VICE Impact and Sky News. I have spoken on global affairs, activism and development at numerous conferences/summits around the world (including: C20, Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, TEDx, Vatican Youth Symposium, Ditchley House).
