About me
Mitra Sadigh is a Global Health (GH) writer, editor, researcher, and educator, specializing in GH humanities with an emphasis on ethics and challenging the colonial framework within GH. Holding dual bachelor’s degrees in music and philosophy, Sadigh has authored numerous works on these topics, as well as health equity and medical education. She has been a key organizer, speaker, and moderator at numerous panels addressing advocacy, GH equity, empowerment of low-to-middle-income countries, and colonization/decolonization, including engagements at the United Nations General Assembly, Consortium of Universities for GH, and the Nuvance Health GH Program. Sadigh has also developed and taught curricula on ethics, cultural relativity, and decolonization in GH at several medical education institutions. Passionate about addressing the impact of conflict, disaster, and border zones on underserved communities at home and abroad, Sadigh is currently completing her intern year at the Yale Emergency Medicine Scholars (YES) Program where she is pursuing a five-year combined residency and research fellowship. She is also hoping to become involved with reforming modes of de-escalation, situational awareness, nonviolent communication, emotional regulation, and trauma-informed care in the Emergency Room.LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/mitra-sadigh
