Nicolas Pade (he/him), Executive Director of the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC-ERIC), France.
Holds a PhD in molecular and spatial ecology from the University of Aberdeen (2009), his research focused on using molecular tools and satellite tracking to determine population genetic structure across ocean basins and local movement patterns. After his postdoctoral work, Nicolas moved into research management, European project management, partnership development, and in 2019 became the executive director of EMBRC-ERIC. Throughout his career, Nicolas has been involved supporting research activities, including in facilitating access for researchers to biological resources. In 2021, Nicolas launched the first coordinated genomics based observatory in Europe, the European Marine Omics Biodiversity Observatory Network (EMO BON), across 20 sites, implementing shared protocols, best practices, and detailed metadata standards
