Professor Sandeep Ranote is currently Clinical Director for Mental Health at Greater Manchester integrated Care system in the UK serving a population of almost 3 million . She has had 28 years experience as a paediatric psychiatrist in the NHS and leads young people’s eating disorder services having worked nationally with NHS England to develop the model. She was part of the ministerial taskforce , “future in mind” to develop the blueprint for national young people’s Mental health transformation . Her research background includes neuroimaging in maternal mental illness , eating disorders and the impact of covid 19 . She was a contributing author to the Royal College book “A Female Mind” and is a regular media spokesperson for Mental health. In her role as Clinical Director she has led the national trailblazer Univeristy student mental health service in Greater Manchester and is currently co-investigator on the largest arts in mental health research grant in the UK with Edge Hill Univeristy and WHO looking at creative arts interventions in young people’s Mental health. She is a professor at the Univeristy of Salford and a trustee at castlefield art gallery as well as sitting on the advisory boards for mental health charity , The Prudence Trust and The British Beauty council supporting the work of the voluntary sector in mental health and well-being.
