About me
Rizwana Mia is a leader in health innovation with 16 years of experience, combining scientific expertise and strategic thinking with her educational background in Genetics & Business Administration. She directs and develops programmatic research and innovation in Precision Medicine. She is also the VICE CHAIR of the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine- ICPerMed. Her work focuses on the inclusive development of research and innovation in Personalised/Precision Medicine. Her achievements include: establishing the South African Precision Medicine Program, the SAMRC Genomics Centre and currently she is the program director of the South African 110,000 Human Genome Program. She is pivotal as the South African lead in the CSA- EU-Africa PerMed consortium, fostering collaboration in personalised medicine research & innovation for Africa.
